Will Prevail Hope From Corner To Corner, Will Become A Better Listener & A Better Learner.

Messiah Arrive  25th December marks the birthday of Jesus Christ the man who sacrificed his life for the betterment of humanity. He spread message of love, care, humanity & forgiveness throughout his lifetime which is evident in the fact that he forgave his killers also. We in this time of hatred, violence and anger must remember his teachings. Merry Christmas to all. It is that time of the year, atmosphere is dull and silent is weather, but the warmth of love & care conquer, when forgiver with love towards us stare. World is filled with hate, animosity has closed all gate, to love and togetherness drive, on this day Messiah Arrive.  #######

आगाह अपनी मौत से कोई बशर नहीं ! ( Aagah Apni Maut Se Koi Bashar Nahin) - No One Is Aware Of Their Own Death - Hairat Allahabadi My brother often quote the first sher of this ghazal from a long time. One day I found that it was part of a ghazal written by Hairat Allahabadi so I decided to translate it. In this ghazal the poet is showing his dare devilry by raising points like he don't fear death, he not fearful of others and things like that. He is showing his power to love without any fear. I hope you will like this translation.  आगाह अपनी मौत से कोई बशर नहीं, सामान सौ बरस का है पल की ख़बर नहीं।  Aagah Apni Maut Se Koi Bashar Nahin, Saman Sau Baras Ka Pal Ki Khabar Nahin. ज़िन्दगी बे-साएबाँ बे-घर कहीं ऐसी न थी। (Zindagi Be-Saaeban Be-Ghar Kahin Aisi Na Thi) - Nowhere Life Was Roofless,Homeless Like That - Parveen Shakir Parveen Shakir was a prominent women Urdu ghazal writer ( shayara ). Her ghazals and shayari are from women's point of few and talks about love, lover, feminism, betrayal, romanticism ,etc from the point of view of girl/women. I read this love ghazal of her after encountering a Sher from it and than decided to translate it. In this ghazal she talked about separation from her lover and the changes which it brings in her life. I hope you will like my translation.  अब किसी को भी नज़र आती नहीं कोई दरार ! (Ab Kisi Ko Bhi Nazar Aati Nahin Koi Darar) Film actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha recited few couplets of this ghazal of Dushyant Kumar recently in a book release function. This ghazal is perfect satire on current political and social situation of the country right now. Where self boosting posters are hiding the broken walls, people are killed/beaten for following particular religion and even those who are speaking truth are targeted by followers of a leader or organization. Dushyant believed that once the countrymen are restless for change; the change will come. I have tried to translate this ghazal to be understand by wider audience. अपनी अना की आज भी तस्कीन हमने की। (Apni Ana Ki Aaj Bhi Taskeen Humne Ki) - Even today in this way my ego I pacify. - Iqbal Sajid I liked the first stanza of this ghazal and hence chose this one of Iqbal Sajid to translate. In this poem poet's frustration is evident in not getting the love from one he loved. So to satisfy his ego he is insulting her beauty and choosing the words hurt her the most. He also displays her truthfulness by mentioning his non-indulgence to any other beauty even when he has that opportunity and in a way he is hurting her by doing this. Just Friends Since childhood I love her I don't know why she also play, study ,roam with me, with me she laugh & cry. College separated but not togetherness, she still for me care, our parents were happy, sure we will marry, judged from there stare. collecting composure called her on terrace, sit with my knees bend, purpose her my love, ask for marriage are we not Just Friend? astonished I looked, profusely she laughed, 'We are couple.Why?'  'Our friendship I adore,many memories it store, Its ruining, don't try?' How to react is difficult to understand, sheepishly I smiled, friendship is first step towards love, still we have to go miles

Remove The Darkness Within Diwali is not only the festival of artificial light but the light of enlightenment we ignite in ourselves. Togetherness, sharing, giving and the things like that associated with this festival all aim at making us a good human being. To be a good human is prerequisite before becoming a good follower of culture,faith,religion or leader. Happy Diwali to all.  World is blind to humanity, hate is the motto of today, against the rising brutality, no one has any say, Who will light the lamp to send away darkness? In politics all faces are the same, no one is crusader against the bad, business is checkmate game, no one is for poor sad, Who will light the lamp to spread the kindness? Let the Human inside us rise, more than any Messiah who sacrifice, Who on evil & good can advice, encourage other to be wise, Only a light illuminating inside us can kill the darkness. मधुशाला (कुछ छंद ) (Madhushala) - The Tavern - Harivansh Rai Bachchan  'Madhushala ' (The Tavern) is the most famous work of Harivansh Rai Bachchan. It is among the longest poems I have read. Through tavern, wine, drinker as analogy ' Bachchan ' has bring out the complexity of life and highlighted hollowness of society, religion, philosophy and traditions. I have selected three of my favorite verse from this long poem to translate in hope you like it.  मदिरालय जाने को घर से चलता है पीनेवला, 'किस पथ से जाऊँ?' असमंजस में है वह भोलाभाला, अलग-अलग पथ बतलाते सब पर मैं यह बतलाता हूँ - 'राह पकड़ तू एक चला चल, पा जाएगा मधुशाला।' Madiralya Jaane Ko Ghar Se Chalta Hai Peenewala, 'Kis Path Se Jaaon?' छाप तिलक सब छीनी रे मोसे नैना मिलाइके।(ChaapTilak Sab Chini Re Mose Naina Milaike) - You Have Taken Away My Looks,My Identity By Just A Glance - Amir Khusro Amir Khusro is a great Sufi poet and disciple of Nizammuddin Auliya. Mostly his creations are in devotion of his Nizam (master) and they are portrayed in a way a beloved is talking about her lover. That worldly love known to people is used as metaphors by him to tell his heavenly love to God or to his master. I have shared here one of his famous 'Ghazal' sung as qawwali by many Indian and Pakistani Singers. In this he said that by just a glance a heavenly look his master has taken away all from him. शायरी #19 - ईद-उल-जुहा  Eid-ul-Zuha, Eid-ul-Adha or just Bakra Eid means feast of sacrifice. Here sacrificing an animal signifies willingly given our love possession in the way of Allah in this case the pampered animal reared with love. It is debatable now to change the practice but it is celebrated around the world and help in feeding millions in the world as a part of sacrifice must be distributed among poor & needy. Moreover those in the business run their families by rearing animals and then selling them during Eid . Here I am sharing a #Shayari on this occasion. Happy Eid. इस मिट्टी में मिट जाना है। (Iss Mitti Mein Mit Jana Hai) 'Iss Mitti Mein Mil Jana Hai' is voice of those Indians namely Muslims and Dalits who are treated as second class citizen nowadays. They are as much part of the nation building as any other citizen of India and didn't need any proof of their patriotism. Amid increase incidents of violence against Dalits & Muslims by Gau Rakshaks this Hindi Kavita authenticate their attachment with India. On this Independence Day we must cherish our unity and deny any force trying to fill hatred in us. सबसे अच्छा दोस्त। (Sabse Achcha Dost) The bond between a sister and brother is the most beautiful and trusted bond in human life. Barring few bad examples this relation always remain true to each other. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan I am sharing a poem about this bond of love,care,trust and friendship. Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed This poem portrays how a true friend should be and includes the premier post (in this case Prime Minister Narendra Modi) as the most trusted friend. All friends' including him should not betray their friends by not extending help to those who are in fear & threatened. Friendship day is round the corner so I hope this related poem would be loved. Happy Friendship Day. Friend in need is a friend indeed, even if world not for their friendship heed, true friendship is the biggest deed, from anyone not any proof it need. Premier post is people's best friend, not any love he is trying to extend, for those whose life ended at mob's hand, for them he is an unforgettable friend. Friendship is the bond we made by our own, god's creation are all other relation, so a friend must not betray a true one, that pain is curable by none. आज भी तन्हाई है। (Aaj Bhi Tanhai Hai) - Lonely Even Today This bilingual poetry was written on 11th September 2012. In my series of revisiting old classics for the new audience I am bringing some of my works back with modifications is required. Hope those who are reading it first time will also like it. The tone of this ghazal is bit depressing where the poet lamenting about his loneliness.  कितने दिन बीत गए, कितनी रातें आयी हैं, आज भी रुसवा हूँ मै, आज भी तन्हाई हैं। Kitne Din Beet Gaye, Kitni Ratein Aai Hain, Aaj Bhi Ruswa Hun Mein, Aaj Bhi Tanhai Hai. ऐ मोहब्बत तेरे अंजाम पे रोना आया। ( Ae Mohabbat Tere Anjaam Pe Rona Aaya) - O Love Your Results Brought Tears To My Eye - Shakeel Badayuni This Shakeel Badayuni ghazal is about a dejected lover who is lamenting on failure of his love. This ghazal is also used in the movie Mughal-e-Azam directed by K.Asif. Aaj Eid Hai! Eid-ul-Fitr is feast of Ramzaan. The day which is dedicated to celebrations after the month of fasting in which Muslims need to share there happiness with those who are less privileged to enjoy this festival fully. वो दिल ही क्या तिरे मिलने की जो दुआ न करे। Wo Dil Hi Kya Tere Milne Ki Jo Dua Na Kare - Qateel Shifai This is ' Qateel Shifai ' love ghazal where he is praying to die than to live in separation. In all stanzas he is demanding death or destruction or something like that for not getting love. The famous ' Sher ' from this ghazal ' Ye Theek Hai ........Juda Na Kare ' (third stanza) he is saying that no one die in love but even though no one should be separated as he know the pain of it. तू हयात का सवेरा है। (Tu Hayaat Ka Savera Hai) Mothers are that light of the god which fulfills His void in our life. Without teachings of mother you will not even know about god. Even though every day is dedicated to mothers, on this special day we would cherish our mothers more. Subah Ho Jaaye Revisited (सुबह हो जाए) This the second post I shared on this blog in 31st August 2012. Like earlier sharing of old poem in this one two I have made changes which I thought suitable after gaining experience. This Ghazal is praising the beloved's beauty and charm. I hope you will like this one too. तू जिधर चाहे निकल जाए सुबह हो जाए, ग़म जितने भी हैं सारे हवा हो जाएँ। Tu Jedhar Chahe Nikal Jaaye Subah Ho Jaaye, Gham Jitne Bhi Hain Saare Hawa Ho Jaaen. First They Came For - Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) Today I am sharing 'First They Came For ' - the statement of a German pastor Martin Neimoller which is often regarded as a poem. This has become the tool of stating cowardice of elite,influential and intellectual class. In last two-three years it is widely quoted in the Indian and world context also when people supported brutalities on marginalized like refugees, Muslims, minorities, etc. Here I have also shared my Hindi rendition of a poem inspired by this one. First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
